About Loren
I’m Loren Kosloske — a product leader and public servant working to bring practical, people-first solutions to Duvall’s challenges and opportunities.
My career began on the factory floor, wearing flame-resistant clothing, working night shifts, and doing whatever it took to keep complex systems running safely and efficiently. Over five years, I worked my way into management, gaining a deep respect for the people behind the scenes — the ones who keep our essential industries moving. That hands-on experience continues to shape how I lead and serve today.
Those early years were spent in Iowa at a massive Cargill industrial complex — one of the largest agribusiness operations in the world. I worked alongside farmers and factory workers to convert corn, soy, and other crops into vital products used throughout the global food and pharmaceutical supply chains. Later, in a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant, I operated chemical reactors and production systems in high-stakes environments where precision mattered. These roles grounded me in the real-world challenges of American industry and underscored the value of hands-on involvement.
From there, I moved into consulting in Chicago, helping major healthcare and life sciences organizations improve operations and expand access to care. Eventually, I made my way to Seattle and joined Uber, where I now lead tech teams building global transportation solutions — including Uber Flights, Shuttle, Park, and other new mobility platforms — all designed to help people move more freely and access opportunity.
I hold an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota Duluth.
Outside of work, I stay grounded through public service and community engagement. I currently serve as Chair of the Duvall Planning Commission, helping shape the city’s future through thoughtful decisions on land use, housing, and infrastructure. It’s a role that demands a balance of vision and practicality — and it’s one I take seriously. I also have volunteered with SCORE and the Founders Institute, mentoring small business owners and entrepreneurs, and with Habitat for Humanity, helping families build stable homes and stronger communities.
Today, I live in Duvall, Washington with my wife and our four pets. I’m a certified sommelier who enjoys trying out new restaurants with my wife, traveling to new parts of the world, and staying active through fitness and healthy living. Whether it's discovering a local gem or pushing through a tough workout, I believe in staying curious, grounded, and always moving forward.
I’m running because I believe innovation should be inclusive, grounded, and focused on real people and real communities. With blue-collar roots and experience spanning manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, and technology, I bring a perspective that bridges the hands-on with the high-tech — and I’m ready to get to work.
